DOVER, Del.– Delaware State Police are investigating a three-car accident that left 10 people injured people in north Dover on Monday.
Police said 32-year-old Dana M. West of Smyrna was driving her Lexus GS4 east on West Denny's Road and stopped her car for a red light to cross US Route 13. Officers said 66-year-old Taft W. Tumlin of Dover was driving a 2002 Ford expedition and failed to stop before hitting the back of West's Lexus. West's vehicle was pushed forward into the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 13 where a 1997 Dodge van struck the passenger side of the Lexus, according to investigators. Police said the van, operated by 60-year-old Judy J. Zingaro of Felton, flipped over from the impact of the collision.
Police said all of the people involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
West had three children in her car and the four were treated at Kent General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Zingaro and her four adult passengers were transported to KGH and treated with non-life-threatening injuries as well.
Tumlin was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries at KGH, but was cited for inattentive driving.
