SALISBURY, Md.- A Wicomico County public school teacher has pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of a minor.
Forty-three-year-old Steven Mark Kiggins is a teacher and girls' volleyball coach at Wicomico High School in Salisbury. He faced multiple charges following accusations that he sexually abused a student.
Kiggins was arrested in January, following accusations that he had sexual contact with a female student both on- and off-campus.
According to Maryland's judiciary case search, while he was sentenced to spend nine years behind bars, Kiggins will only have to serve four in jail.
