NEWARK, Del. – New Castle County police are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Newark on Monday.
Police said the teen was shot in his upper body at the 100 block of East Plover Drive in the Sparrow Run community at around 2:46 p.m. According to police, the suspect fled the area but police detained a person similar to the description of the potential suspect.
Investigators said the teenager was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Christiana Hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
