SALISBURY, Md. - Poodles took over the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center Monday.
It's the 80th annual Poodle Show that draws competitors from all over the world. It's said to be one of the most respected poodle shows on earth. You'll get to see poodles jump over hurdles and show off their hunting skills. But the climax of the event is on Friday when all the dogs compete for the Best in Show. The event is expected to bring in an estimated $2,000,000 for the county.
"That would be because you have people that come in, they're here for a week, they are renting or have hotel rooms all over the city. So they meet and they go out to dinner, go out to lunches and there's quite a bit of spending going on. Salisbury is very good in return to all the exhibitors it's a great place to have a dog show," said Dennis McCoy, Show Chairman.
A section of Glen Avenue will be closed this week because of the event. It will reopen on Friday at 6PM.
