DOVER, Del.– Dover police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred last weekend outside the Wawa convenience store on the corner of South DuPont Highway and Court Street.
According to police, on Saturday, April 14, Shakir Swain and Troy Ingram tried to steal $600 worth of stereo equipment from the victim in front of the Wawa. Investigators said the two men approached the victim and as the victim defended himself, Ingram pulled out a handgun. Police said that as the suspects were fleeing in their car, they hit a bystander, causing a minor injury to his leg, officers said.
Police have warrants on file charging the suspects with first-degree attempted robbery, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, aggravated menacing, second-degree conspiracy, third-degree vehicular assault and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
