SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - The Salisbury Festival is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The festival, which officially welcomes spring, will be hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce this weekend. The three-day event begins Friday and will feature games, rides and music. There will also be a farmers market, a flea market and beer tastings.
Shannon Mitchell, the chamber's director of communications and events, says all past festival chairmen have been invited to attend the 30th anniversary.
The Salisbury Festival began as the Dogwood Festival. As a symbolic reminder of the festival's origins, the chamber and Salisbury University have painted dogwoods in the area.
