"Pink Slime" Manufacturer Files For Bankruptcy

MARYLAND - AFA foods a ground-beef processor, is seeking bankruptcy court protection with a plan to sell some assets. Ongoing media coverage has called into question the wholesomeness of "pink slime." Demand for pink slime has decreased dramatically, and has also reduced the demand for all ground beef products. The company, based in Pennsylvania filed Chapter 11 papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.
