SALISBURY, Md. - The season has yet to start, but the Delmarva Shorebirds are already swinging for the fences - trying to put an end to hunger.
Perdue has teamed up with the local birds to host the "Strike Out Hunger Campaign" for the second year in a row. Wednesday they presented three local food banks with a challenge and a check - if they can raise $15,000 - Perdue will match it.

"We'll match some efforts by the community on food drives, when a shorebirds pitcher strikes out an opposing batter there'll be $10 donated for that," said Bill Hetherington, the Director of the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation. They're hoping to raise a total of $30,000, which will be split between three food banks in Salisbury, Milford and Virginia
