Local Lacrosse Team Receives Big Donation

Berlin-On Saturday family, friends and community members gathered for a young girl and great cause. A ceremony was held this morning in Berlin, Maryland for the future safety of youth lacrosse players.
Last year, then 9 year old Sierra Hall was playing Beach Lacrosse at the Berlin Worcester County fields when she suddenly went into Cardiac Arrest. Two parents rushed to her side who witnessed the event and they immediately performed CPR on Sierra.
Luckily, after months of rehab Sierra recovered but now 10 year-old Sierra is no longer able to play lacrosse.
In light of last year's event, Sierra's mother and other members in the community worked endlessly to get 12 local coaches certified in CPR. They also received instruction on how to use an AED machine.
Saturday morning, Sierra, her mother and other members of the Beach Lacrosse team were presented a AED machine. This machine was kindly donated by Stewart Krug of the Matthew Krug Foundation. This donation of the AED machine will benefit the team, in case another emergency ever occurs again.
