Tana Karen Edwards, 23, of Chester, is charged with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, hindering an investigation and reckless endangerment.
Police said Edwards' arrest stemmed from an assault that occurred Sunday morning, April 1, at 1619 Postal Road. According to police, the victim told the investigating trooper that she was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle when Edwards approached her and punched her in the face as she sat in the vehicle. Witnesses then told troopers that Edwards then went to another vehicle where she allegedly pulled out a crowbar and again went after the victim who was still seated in the vehicle.
Troopers said that as Edwards approached the victim, Edwards' boyfriend grabbed the crowbar from her before she could strike the victim or the vehicle.
Police said that when the trooper arrived and attempted to investigate the incident, Edwards was still on the scene screaming and yelling profanities which prevented him from conducting the investigation. Edwards was then taken into custody.
Following her arrest on the aforementioned charges, Edwards was ordered held in the Queen Anne's County Detention Center on $10,000 bond
