Delmar Man Arrested for Threatening Man’s Life with .BB Gun

DELMAR, Md.– The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of assaulting another man after threatening his life with a .BB gun.
Police said that on Monday at 7:15 p.m., 54-year-old Kevin Wingfield beat up another man over a dispute involving his daughter at the 8000 block of Doris Street in Delmar.
Authorities said Wingfield was carrying what appeared to be a black handgun that he pointed at the victim's head and fired, but the gun did not discharge. Wingfield then dropped the gun and started to physically assault the man, according to police.
Investigators said the gun Wingfield carried was a .BB gun, but the victim thought the gun was a real handgun. During an interview regarding the incident, Wingfield said he was trying to scare the victim with the weapon.
Wingfield was arrested for first-degree assault and taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was ordered held on $50,000 bond.
