I think it is a great idea and it does work very well at the high school.
I have 2 children attending Delmar elementary school under the new program. We are low income due to job loss and it seems we may not be able to afford new uniforms. I cannot understand why they would go to uniform policy when we have so many non uniform articles available. Its is not cheaper to dress children in uniforms. And when stores like walmart will not carry them we are forced to spend aproximatly $60 per child for just the first day for new uniforms. And when u pinch pennies to provide a living it is nearly impossible. With no assistance programs available it doesn't look like my children meeting dress code in the first few weeks. On top of the growing list of supplies needed deemed "mandatory".
Holy, the second hand store in the old town buildings was supposed to have a second hand uniform section for school uniforms. I just looked on Walmart web and you can dress a child for about $15.00. Order online its cheeper and avalible.
