First Non-Stop Flight To Florida To Take Off Thursday

SALISBURY, Md. - Travelers from the Eastern Shore will be taking their first flights to the "Sunshine State" on Thursday.
The first Allegiant Air non-stop flight takes off from the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport to the Orlando-Sanford International Airport. Officials say the flight is fully booked with 155 passengers. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive Thursday afternoon at 2:55 p.m. and depart at 6:55 p.m.
Officials say Allegiant will offer the service twice a week on Thursdays and Sunday. On both days the aircraft will arrive in Salisbury at 6:15 p.m. and depart at 6:55 p.m. Officials say the introductory fares start as low as $59.99 one-way.
