LAUREL, Del.- The Laurel Town Council will decide Monday whether to extend an emergency curfew for non-residents at the Carvel Gardens and Carvel Gardens Annex apartment complex.
The curfew went into effect on Feb. 22, following months of violent criminal and gang-related activity at the complex.
Laurel police said the curfew, which is set to expire at midnight on Monday, has helped curb emergency calls to the complex.
The emergency curfew applies to all non-residents outside on the Carvel Gardens property between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Violators of the curfew could face a $500 fine and 30 days in jail if convicted.
