Texted Drug Deal Goes To Police Officer



A Laurel woman was texting with a person to sell a quantity of marijuana on May 16. However the person 20 year old Julia Wagner was contacting a police officer who continued the conversation. Wagner told the texter where she’d be and what her vehicle looked like which was relayed to a Wicomico Sheriff’s Deputy who responded to the location and found Wagner. She was arrested and charged with several drug offenses. She’s free on $15,000 bond.

Suspect: Julia L. Wagner, 20, Laurel, DE
Narrative: On 16 May 2012 at approximately 1230 PM, Julia Wagner initiated a series of text messages to an individual in an attempt to sell a quantity of marijuana. Unbeknownst to Wagner, she was inadvertently texting a law enforcement officer who then continued the text conversation. Wagner told this officer where she would be and what kind of vehicle she would be in. That information was relayed to an on-duty deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the parking lot Wagner texted she was en-route to. The deputy entered the parking lot and located the vehicle matching the description that was texted out. Upon identifying the driver and sole occupant as Julia Wagner of Laurel, DE; she then admitted to having the marijuana in her possession.
The marijuana was packaged and in a sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to sell it.
The deputy placed Wagner under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Wagner in the Detention Center in lieu of $15,000.00 bond.
