Ocean City Town Council Chooses New Manager

OCEAN CITY, Md.- It's official. David Recor will be the next city manager in Ocean City. A Tuesday vote behind closed doors produced a signed contract with the former Fort Pierce, Fla., city manager, according to officials.
"We welcome him to Ocean City," said Council President Jim Hall.
Mayor Rick Meehan called the majority (4-3) vote a move forward and asked council to put differences aside and work alongside the new hire.
"It is what it is," Meehan said. "Council has voted to hire a new city manager and I think that's the right move."
Recor's first day is June 11.
He succeeds long-time manager Dennis Dare, who was fired by council last year. Meehan had been assuming responsibilities in the meantime.
