Laurel school employees given layoff notices

LAUREL, Del. (AP) - The Laurel School District has given layoff notices to nearly three dozen employees due to budget cuts.
The affected employees include 15 teachers, two secretaries, six custodians and 12 paraprofessionals. The 15 teachers represent 8.7% of the district's 172-member teaching force. The layoffs will take effect in the coming school year.
