Wicomico County- It appears that the budget battle between Wicomico County officials and the Board of Education is over momentarily. Earlier this week, the Wicomico County Board of Education made it known that they believed the budget request for school operations was set at $38.7 million dollars. The county disagreed, saying it was $2.5 million dollars too high.
Both groups sat down together for over three hours on Friday May 4th in an effort to come to an agreement. Superintendent Doctor John Fredericksen states that the two groups decided to wait until May 14th when Maryland will hold it's special session to finalize the state budget, before the county finalizes their budget
