MILTON, Del.- Police over the weekend arrested a Milton man for endangering the welfare of a child after a 4-year-old boy was found wandering alone and barefoot around town.
Milton police said that on early Saturday afternoon, the 4-year-old was found wandering around and hiding in the area of Front and Walnut streets. Police said officers were bringing the child to the police department when 37-year-old David Klein called to report that the child had gotten out of the house. According to police, the child had traveled barefoot approximately 1.3 miles from his home to where he was found.
According to police, the department has handled similar past incidents involving the victim and Klein.
For the latest incident, Klein was taken into custody on the aforementioned charge and ordered held in default of $1,000 secured bond pending a later court date. The
child was turned over to relatives pending the involvement of the Division of Family Services.
