Greenwood Residents On Edge After Elderly Couple's Homicide

GREENWOOD, Del.- In a town as small as Greenwood, Delaware the question who did it, quickly becomes, why or is a stranger to blame?
76-year-old Harvey Cashwell and his wife 66-year-old Carolyn were found shot to death Friday inside of their home on Liden School Road.
The traditionally quiet neighborhood was on edge Monday. Many of the residents who knew the couple asked WBOC to keep their identity anonymous for safety reasons.
"Scared to death," said one neighbor. "Great people, great, great people."
Police said this is a double homicide and the couple may have been dead for several days.
Residents said they couldn't believe that something like this could happen so close to home.
"The whole neighborhood feels violated in a way," said another neighbor. "If somebody comes up here with guns then we have no defense, as of now we have none."
Some other concerned residents said they are saddened that the lives of a couple who were well liked had to end so tragically.
"They just lived a good life and it's just a shame, " said another neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. "They never bothered anybody."
As of Monday evening, police were still investigating the incident.
If anyone has any information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact Detective William Porter at 302-531-5892 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333
