Salisbury Boxer Arrested for Assault on Deputy

SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury boxer is facing charges following accusations that he assaulted a Wicomico County sheriff's deputy during a Monday traffic stop.
The Sheriff's Office reports that 31-year-old Alexis Guerrero-Delacruz was traveling on Glen Avenue in Salisbury when a city police officer stopped his vehicle. A deputy from the Sheriff's Office's Drug K9 team was called to the scene to assist with a drug investigation.
Authorities said the deputy attempted to Guerrero-Delacruz exit his vehicle while his K9 partner sniffed the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. Police said that instead of complying, Guerrero became argumentative and had to be asked several times to exit the vehicle.
Investigators said that once outside of the vehicle, Guerrero-Delacruz tried to shield himself from being patted down for a weapon and then attempted to push the deputy away. The deputy attempted to place Guerrero-Delacruz in handcuffs, but police said that at this point he began to actively resist and struggle with the deputy. The deputy and the city officer had to engage in a physical confrontation with Guerrero-Delacruz in order to subdue him, police said.
After being taken into custody, Guerrero-Delacruz was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest. He was released on personal recognizance pending a District Court hearing is scheduled for April
After reading this post I dont see any gun charges or drugs charges, what was the traffic stop for other than to look for such. if i were Delacruz I would be outraged too. click on this linkhttp://sbynews.blogspot.com/2012/02/civil-rights.html
