SALISBURY, Md.-There's a new brewery in town.
Salisbury is now home to the Evolution Craft Brewing Company where the finishing touches are almost done.
The brewing company will call the former Reddy Ice factory off of Route 13 its new home.
"It's great for the new community and it looks like we are going to be adding a lot of culture to the area," said owner, Tom Knorr.
For now, all of the brewery's beer is being bottled in Delmar, Delaware off of N. Bi State Boulevard, which is the original facility just 8 miles up the road.
"We have laid it out so that it works from brewing there one day and then brewing here the next with out any interruption in our production," Knorr said.
The new venue in Salisbury already has its light fixtures mounted to help round out the decor inside the brewery's new restaurant, which will also eventually add a tasting room.
The move however left a bad taste in the mouth of Delmar Mayor, Michael Houlihan who said that he is sorry to see the brewery go.
"I am hoping that it's not going to be another vacant building for us," Houlihan said, "Small business feeds off of other small businesses."
Knorr said he agreed with Houlihan but added that Delmar will always be a special place.
"Delmar is one of those communities that just supports every thing about their town so we are hoping that Salisbury embraces us the same way," he said.
Evolution's restaurant portion of the brewery is expected to open March 23.
Knorr said brewing could be up and running as early as April.
