2 Md. Men Arrested for Scrap Metal Thefts

EAST NEW MARKET, Md.- The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrests of two men accused of stealing scrap metal from an abandoned house in East New Market.
Police said that on Monday, March 19, deputies responded to a reported theft in progress at 5490 Hicksburg Road. When the deputies arrived on the scene, police said they located 23- year-old Norman Talbot Arnold 3rd of Chestertown and 22-year-old Thomas Arthur Embrey of East New Market on the property with stolen scrap metal that they had removed from an abandoned house there.
Both men were arrested and The pair were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary with intent to commit theft, trespassing on posted property and theft over $100 but under $1,000. They were then released by a District Court commissioner.
