Police Seek Help Finding Laurel Shooting Suspect

LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police are asking the public's help in finding a suspect in Wednesday's double shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Carvel Gardens apartment complex in Laurel.
Police are looking for 27-year-old Darron J. Hines of Dover. Hines is wanted on an active warrant charging him with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Police said that at around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, the two victims were sitting in a car parked in front of the #500 apartment building of Carvel Gardens, when a suspect began firing a handgun through an open window. The male victim was struck in the back and ankle, and the female victim was struck once in the lower back by numerous rounds.
The shooting suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

The female victim, who is from Delmar, Del., was flown to Christiana Hospital where she was treated for the injury she sustained in the shooting. The male victim, who is from Laurel, was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford where he underwent emergency surgery to stabilize his wounds.
Police later identified Hines as being involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Troop 4 Major Crimes (302) 856-5850 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
