Man Arrested For Harassing Emergency Dispatchers

GEORGETOWN, Del. - A Dover man has been arrested for harassing phone calls to emergency operators. Police had received information that Justin Thorne, 23, had been making "crank calls" to emergency dispatch centers in Sussex County.
There were four calls placed within four minutes, where the suspect is believed to have used a previously recorded message in order to harass the operator. Police executed a search warrant at Thorne's home on Fieldcrest Drive in Dover where they recovered both computer equipment and cellular phones.
Thorne is being charged with four counts of harassment and four counts of malicious interference with emergency communications. He has been arraigned and released on $8,000.00 unsecured bond.
