Delamr Gets Ampitheater Proposal

Delmar Md, Local land developer Doug Marshall sudmitted a proposal to build a 5000 seat ampitheater on RT 54 east of Delmars RT 13 at the site of the failed Heron Pond development. The ampitheater will bring several full and part time jobs to the area and much needed revenue. He also made a request that the land be rezoined to PUD (Planned Unit Development) which allows several diffrent zoning uses for one piece of land, this will allow him to build single family afforable homes,  two restaurants plus the ampitheater. Mr Marshall has previously agreed to donate a piece of land to the Delmar Fire Deptmant so they may build a substation on the east side of Delmar.Delmars fire chief Darin Scott is researching the location to see if it is suitable for the much needed substation to be located. This is a huge step for the newly elected mayor and council to bring new business, jobs and increased revenue to Delmar. This is just on more project our elected officials have in the works to move Delmar in a forward direction. Good job guys keep up the good work.

Were there any questions or comments about the impact of increased traffic in the area and at the Rt 13 light on those times when an event is scheduled? I think it's a great idea, but Rt 54 backs up now with the Rt 13 light. 1,000 cars leaving the area at the same time would overwhelm that area.
