SALISBURY -- A 16-year-old Parsonsburg male was taken into custody by police Tuesday after a 13-year-old girl alleged he sexually assaulted her, according to police.
Salisbury police have charged Aaron S. Moore with attempted second-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and false imprisonment.
Moore, who was charged as an adult, was released from the Wicomico County Detention Center on Wednesday on $100,000 bond following a District Court bail review hearing.
When city officers responded to Emory Court on Jan. 5, the victim, 13, alleged Moore held her on the bed and attempted to remove her shorts, according to charging documents.
The next day, during an interview with a Department of Social Services worker, the victim alleged she and Moore were home alone when he asked her to "crack his back." After she did so, Moore allegedly told her he would return the favor and crack her back.
The victim laid face down on the bed while Moore sat on her lower back and push up and down on her back with his hands. When he was finished, she asked him to get off her but Moore allegedly refused, according to court records.
The victim alleged Moore rubbed her back and legs before he attempted to remove her shorts.
Eventually the victim was able to break away from Moore and lock herself in a bathroom until her mother and stepfather arrived home.
Moore left the home after he was confronted by the victim's mother, according to police.
During an initial interview with investigators on Jan. 11, Moore denied the victim's allegations. He was taken into custody after he reported to the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center on Tuesday. He was not interviewed by police a second time.
A District Court preliminary hearing, where a judge will determine if there is probable cause for the charges, is scheduled for early February
