WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Ben Cardin says he is working to ensure funding for bike lanes and paths is included in a federal transportation bill.
The Maryland Democrat says he plans to release data on Wednesday showing overwhelming support among Americans for maintaining or increasing funding for sidewalks, bike lanes and bike paths.
Cardin is to be joined at the announcement by Andy Clarke, president of the League of American Bicyclists, which is also promoting Bike to School Day on Wednesday. The day is part of National Bike Month activities in May to support bicycling
