Baby Ava Update

OCEAN CITY, Md., - 6 months ago Baby Ava DelRicco was in the fight of her life. Today, she is well on the road to recovery. Not only is her family about to celebrate Ava's second birthday. They're also celebrating the passing of Ava's law, a bill creating stronger laws for impaired drivers.
"This passing of Ava's law to me and to most of us is a step in the right direction", says John Brooks a friend of the DelRicco family.
Looking to start anew, the DelRicco's relocated to Baltimore. And according to this family friend they are learning to live and cope with Ava's condition, as best as they can.

"She did have an extensive damage to her brain stem. She still hasn't regained her sight and that's the main thing we're worried about right now", says Brooks. "Ava's mother is starting to get back in the swing of things, so to speak, says Brooks.
Though they no longer live on the Shore, the Ocean city community is still uniting to help the family.
"June 15th, 16th, 17th were going to have a city wide Ava Delricco charity weekend which is a great thing and we hope to raise 50,000 dollars for the family", says Brooks. "The community in Ocean City has been great we started this thing with the candle light vigil back just a week after the accident and that has spawned into fundraiser's and everything else", he continues.
