2 Teens Arrested for Fighting at Church Youth Group Event

EASTON, Md.- Easton police say two teenage girls have been charged with assault following a fight that broke out at a church youth group event.
Police said that on Wednesday night, May 9, officers responded to a reported fight at the Church of God gymnasium. When the officers responded to the scene, they learned that the church was holding it weekly youth group night and that the youth group leaders had already broken up a fight between two young women.
Police said the investigation revealed that a 15-year-old girl from St. Michaels and a 14-year-old girl from Trappe had gotten into an argument over a Facebook post. Investigators said the argument then turned physical and interrupted the group's events.
Both teens were taken into custody and transported to the Easton Police Department. They were then referred to the Talbot County Department of Juvenile Justice on one count each of second-degree assault. They were both later released to their parents.
