Michael Oher Is Coming To Prince Street Elementary In Salisbury!

SALISBURY, Md. - Cheers of excitement rang through Prince Street Elementary after getting word that Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle, Michael Oher would be paying their school a visit next month.
"The staff didn't know about this announcement either so this was a total shock," said Assistant Principal, Jason Miller.
"I'm really excited. This is the first time that we ever get to see an athlete, a pro athlete at that, come to Prince Street," said 5th grader, Zion Rivera.
"I never thought I would see someone in a foster home and now is really famous for what he does. He is really cool and I think it would be really amazing to see him," said Skylar Jones, also a 5th grader at Prince Street.
Many watched Oher's story play out on the big screen in the 2009 movie "The Blind Side." The students and staff got an inside look into Oher's life through his book titled "I beat the odds", depicting how he overcame turmoil and neglect to ultimately find success. On February 10th, Oher will bring the school's book study to life, sending the message that it's "not where you came from but where you end up."
The public is invited to attend the free event on February 10th at 7 p.m. Tickets can be picked up at the school on Saturday February 4th between 9 and 12. Everyone is asked to bring three canned goods, which will be donated to the Maryland Food Bank
