Bethel man jailed on child porn charges

BETHEL — A 50-year-old Bethel-area man has been arrested on child pornography charges. William W. Barrall, of the 7000 block of Shell Bridge Road, was charged Jan. 6 with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography, said state Attorney General Beau Biden.
The investigation was initiated by the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which allegedly uncovered images of child pornography at Barrall’s home and place of employment.
On Thursday, members of the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, state troopers and a federal agent from Homeland Security raided the two locations, which included his workplace at Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, and seized computers and other digital media.

A preliminary forensic analysis revealed numerous files of child pornography, officials said.

Barrall, who was traveling out of the state when the warrants were served, surrendered to police on Friday.

His employment has been terminated at Mountaire Farms.

Barrell is being held in the Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post a $250,000 secured bail.
