REISTERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - Gov. Martin O'Malley says early voting on Monday in Maryland has been canceled due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy.
The governor made the announcement during a news conference Sunday at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.
Maryland residents began voting early on Saturday, and residents were able to vote on Sunday as well.
O'Malley says the state wants to keep the full amount of days for early voting. He says he anticipates Monday's early voting day to be rescheduled for Friday.
Early voting had been scheduled to run through Thursday. Officials hope to announce Monday when it will resume.
