Above Chris Wheatley cooking the chicken.

All in all the day was great, warm weather brought out a huge crowed, the BBQ chicken cooked by Chris Wheatley was sold out by 1:00. the chicken was being sold so fast I couldn't keep up, said wheatley, we could have sold 200 more pieces if we had it, but its better to sell what you have than to try to get rid of left over, but the concession stand had plenty of food to back up the sold out BBQ. from hamburgers hot dogs, pulled pork, crab cakes, french fries, potato chip, candy, snow cones, sodas and a full staff of volunteers to serve it.
Normally when you come to Delmar Little League games you will see parents and grand parents, but somewhere in the crowd you will see some Delmar Little League " Old Timers" that still like to come out and enjoy the games, One person you will be sure to see is Gary Wooten, Years ago Gary hit the first HOMERUN out of Delmar Little League, on the fiftith annaversory of Delmar Little League they had a case made for the first homerun ball, that his mother kept all those years, and presented it to him. Not many Little Leagues can say that.
You don't have to child to come out and watch Little League, everybody is welcome and its free! Come out get a hamburge, hot dog and fries a cold soda, peanuts and watch a game.Go to this link to see more of Delmar Little League opening day and visit their website.
