SALISBURY, Md. (WBOC)– Salisbury police have arrested two men accused of attacking and robbing another man outside of a convenience store.
Charles Robert Timmons, 20, of Seaford, Del., is charged with robbery, theft and second-degree assault. Andre Deshawn Ricks, 21, also of Seaford, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit theft, and possession of marijuana.
Police said the arrests stemmed from an incident that occurred at around 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in the parking lot of the Friendly Food store on the 900 block of North Salisbury Boulevard.
Officers said they met with the victim who stated that someone he knew as "Charlie Timmons" approached him in the parking lot and knocked him to the ground. The suspect then grabbed money from the victim's pocket before taking off in a vehicle, according to police.
Maryland State Police troopers stopped the suspect vehicle in the north Salisbury area. After the traffic stop, the victim was transported to the scene where police said he positively identified Timmons as his assailant.
Officers said a further investigation revealed that Ricks was in possession of the stolen money and had full knowledge of the crime before it had occurred. Police said Ricks was also found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
Following their arrests on the aforementioned charges, both suspects were released to the custody of Wicomico County Central Booking
