NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Newark police say a man trespassing on railroad tracks was shocked by an overhead high voltage line while climbing a freight train.
Officers were called to Christiana Hospital, where the man was being treated for his injuries Saturday morning.
Police say the Newark man climbed onto a Norfolk Southern train and was shocked by an overhead line once he reached the top. The man lost consciousness and when he awoke, he was lying on the railroad tracks. Police say the man walked home and roommates took him to the hospital.
The man was treated at Christiana Hospital for burns to approximately 35% of his body and then taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police say no charges have been filed
